There is a lot of cleaning that you need to do to keep your house tidy and lovely to reside within, and it can be really helpful to break these tasks down based on the day on which you will perform them. Some tasks should be done daily, such as sweeping, and others can be done on a weekly basis with mopping being a prime example of that. Suffice it to say that you should also try to clean your carpet about once a week as well, and if you have never done something of this sort before you should sit back while we tell you how to do it the right way.
The first step to your weekly carpet cleaning should involve using a long handled brush that has very firm and stiff bristles because of the fact that this is the only thing that can slowly move all of the dirt to once place. If this is too much work for you, try using a vacuum cleaner due to the reason that this automates to a pretty large extent. Bear in mind that cleaning your carpet every single week does not replace commercial carpet cleaning, so you should get that done every few months or so as well.
If you notice any small stains on your rug, you should spray some shampoo on them before vacuuming. When this shampoo dries up it will basically bond to the dirt on a molecular level. You can then just vacuum it up and the stain will largely disappear. Some stains can’t be treated like this though which is why occasionally hiring professionals is such an important thing for you to do.
